Beach Drive: The Weekender – All Hallows Eve Edition


The countdown to Halloween is on, and we’ve got everything you need to have a spooktacularly good time on Beach Drive this weekend. Whether you’re looking for a quick culture lesson, a rooftop Halloween party, or a hangover cure, we’ve got it all. Costume up, grab your crew, and celebrate in St. Pete’s liveliest district.

THURSDAY OCT. 26TH

Anthony Hamilton at the Mahaffey

Grammy Award winner Anthony Hamilton performs live at the Mahaffey Theater. Anthony will be performing all his smash hits like “Comin From Where I’m From”, “Charlene”, “point of it All” and “Best of Me.” The 10 time Grammy nominated soul singer has built a reputation for outstanding live performances full of energy and classic R&B. Movies in the Park: ET

Gear up in your Halloween costume and usher in fall & Halloween with E.T. the Extra Terrestrial (1982) PG – An Oscar award winning Spielberg classic. This is the perfect movie to begin your Halloween celebrations. Bring your little ones and be sure to sign up for the costume contest. Music starts at 6pm, movie at dusk.

Heather Gillis Band at Ale & The Witch

Florida local Heather Gillis is the complete package as a guitar player, lap steel player, songwriter, singer and arranger. At 22 years old, Heather has not only formed a following at a local level, but has played alongside and befriended members of the The Allman Brothers Band, Col Bruce Hampton, The Lee Boys, North Mississippi All-Stars, Matt Schofield, and many more. The show starts at 8:30pm. 

Fine Art after 5pm: reduced admission to The Dali Museum & MFA

Fine art can be pricey. Thursdays after 5pm, visit the Dali for $10, and the MFA for $5. Have a glass of wine and stroll the museums for the perfect Happy Hour.

Beach and Beyond: Sundial Friday Night Music Series – Chris Walker

Continuing the Friday Night Music Series, this free concert starts at 6pm in the Sundial Courtyard. Chris Walker is known for his captivating, engaging shows, where he connects with audiences using multiple instruments and enigmatic musicianship. Chris has been touring the US since the age of 13. Every show, every song; Chris pours out his musical soul and message.

Saturday Morning Market

St. Pete’s favorite way to say good morning is back on Beach Drive! After spending the summer in Williams Park, the Market is back with all of the goods – and eats – to make your Saturday morning sweet. Stop by Al Lang Stadium Parking lot from 9am to 2pm. St. Pete Run Fest Training Run

St Pete Run Fest and their partners will be on hand to get you prepped and ready for the big run St. Pete Run Fest on November 19. Each group run will be free and open to anyone who would like to participate. Mapped runs of 3, 6 and 9 miles will all start and finish at the Saturday Morning Market and be complete with tips on running, nutrition, and hydration for the big event. Runs start at 8am.

St. Petersburg International Folk Fair (SPIFFS)

Travel the world in a day – without leaving the country. Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to take part in the magic of song, dance, and foods from more than 30 ethnic groups from countries around the world. In addition to ethnic foods and cultural displays, enjoy cooking demonstrations, breathtaking music, Polynesian dancers plus folk music and dancing from around the world. Dali & Beyond Film Series: Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Going along with the Dali’s new exhibit, Dali and Shiaparelli, October’s movie theme is “Haute Couture Horror,” featuring frightful films with extraordinary costume design. The film starts at 1pm and plays til 3.

This week’s movie will be Bram Stoker’s Dracula, in honor of Halloween. A film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic vampire novel, Gary Oldman plays Dracula whose lonely soul is determined to reunite with his lost love, Mina (Winona Ryder). In Britain, Dracula begins a reign of terror and seduction in search of the woman who looks like his long-dead wife. Vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing sets out to end the madness.

USL Semifinals: Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. New York Red Bulls II

The Tampa Bay Rowdies are in the next round of play-offs! After an excellent showing last weekend against FC Cincinnati, The Rowdies are vying to keep going. Show up and root for the green and gold. Tryst Halloween House Party

Yoga at the Dali

From 10:30-11:45am every Sunday. Join Lucky Cat Yoga every Sunday at The Dali – a remarkable environment where Dali’s energy infuses the physical, mental and spiritual inspiration of yoga. Classes are held in the Raymond James Community Room or Avant-Garden, both with incredible views of the waterfront.

The Lucky Cats teach vinyasa yoga, an all-levels approach that incorporates an interplay of basic breath work, postures, meditation and relaxation. Each student is encouraged to awaken and sustain their practice at their own pace. Please arrive early on a light stomach. Don’t have a mat? We have several on hand to lend.
