Another Thursday in paradise. As snow falls for our Northern neighbors, the ‘burg shines ever brighter. We’ve got everything you need to plan another fantastic weekend in our beautiful city, soaking up the best things your favorite district has to offer. THURSDAY NOV. 9th

Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson @ The Mahaffey

British rock legend Ian Anderson makes his Mahaffey debut! The concert will feature a solid collection of the best-known Jethro Tull repertoire from 1968 to date. Fans will recognize the key songs from various albums – songs which put Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson on the map in the late ’60’s and early ’70’s – with most of them accompanied by big screen HD video elements to enhance the concert experience. Fine Art after 5pm: reduced admission to The Dali Museum & MFA

Fine art can be pricey. Thursdays after 5pm, visit the Dali for $10, and the MFA for $5. Have a glass of wine and stroll the museums for the perfect Happy Hour.

Off Beach: St. Petersburg Preservation’s Downtown Weekday Morning Tour

This weekday morning tour is led by architectural historian and St. Petersburg Preservation President Emily Elwyn. Tour goers will see some of the best of the city’s architecture, including the Open Air Post Office and the adjacent Snell Building, while being led by a historian offering a unique perspective on the growth of the ‘Burg. The tour will last approximately one hour, offering a great introduction to the city for visitors and a fun way for residents to learn something new about their city. RibFest 2017

“Rockin’ Ribs – Helpin’ Kids” – This three day charity fundraiser helps a variety of youth oriented causes.
Ribfest features the best BBQ ribbers in the world, national touring bands playing classic & southern rock & country hits.
On Saturday and Sunday, fun activities for kids – in the Family Fun Zone. Featuring live music from ZZ Top, Orleans, Ambrosia, Dennis De Young and the Music of Styx, the Charlie Daniels Band and more! Gates open daily at 11 a.m. Vinoy Park (701 Bay Shore Drive NE, St. Petersburg, FL).

Young Eagles Flight Rally – Free Flight for Kids @ Albert Whitted Airport

Each plane ride starts with a pre-flight safety lesson from the pilot, and soon, kids are enjoying a whole new and beautiful view of the world below. Tampa Bay Times Reading Festival @ USFSP

The 25th Annual Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. This free festival is a celebration of literacy featuring nationally renowned authors, book signings, panel discussions and a variety of entertainment.  The USF St. Petersburg campus is located in downtown St. Petersburg, attendees may utilize campus and downtown parking, giving easy access to all events throughout the day.

The Florida Orchestra Pops: Martin Hamlisch & More @ The Mahaffey

The MFA opens its Power of Costume exhibition with a celebration of the ultimate in powerful costumes: Star Wars Costume Party on November 11th. Perfect time of year to don your Star Wars garb. Saturday Morning Market

St. Pete’s favorite way to say good morning is back on Beach Drive! St. Pete Run Fest Training Run

St Pete Run Fest and their partners will be on hand to get you prepped and ready for the big run St. Pete Run Fest on November 19. Each group run will be free and open to anyone who would like to participate. Mapped runs of 3, 6 and 9 miles will all start and finish at the Saturday Morning Market and be complete with tips on running, nutrition, and hydration for the big event. Runs start at 8am.

Yoga at the Dali

From 10:30-11:45am every Sunday. Join Lucky Cat Yoga every Sunday at The Dali – a remarkable environment where Dali’s energy infuses the physical, mental and spiritual inspiration of yoga. Classes are held in the Raymond James Community Room or Avant-Garden, both with incredible views of the waterfront.

The Lucky Cats teach vinyasa yoga, an all-levels approach that incorporates an interplay of basic breath work, postures, meditation and relaxation. Each student is encouraged to awaken and sustain their practice at their own pace. Please arrive early on a light stomach. Don’t have a mat? We have several on hand to lend.

Cost: $10 members and students, $15 non-members.

Betty Fox Band Good Sunday Revue series @ Ale & The Witch

The Good Sunday Revue is a series hosted by the Betty Fox Band on select Sundays through the year where proceeds are raised for local charities from the concert. This November the select dates are the 12th and the 26th (Thanksgiving weekend Sunday). The time for the shows are 4-7pm as the time change of daylight savings goes into effect this month. Each concert the Betty Fox Band is joined by a special guest musician. 4-7pm.
