Simmer & Sift (Final Night) at the Museum of Fine Arts

The final night of a four part series at the Museum of Fine Arts, this month’s Simmer & Sift will feature Chef Norman Van Aken. Van Aken has been called the “culinary Titan of Florida.” He will delight the senses and with live demonstrations, exclusive food tastings, and perfectly paired drinks, sure to impress. Van Aken is the executive chef and owner of 1921 and has been honored as a James Beard semifinalist.

Alongside this evening of taste-bud tantalization will be something special for the mind, too. Award-winning historian and former professor of history at USF- St. Petersburg, Gary Mormino, will present on Florida culinary culture, in “Ten Foods that Define Modern Florida.” Tickets are available for $40 for MFA members and $50 for non-members.
