Clear The Shelters with no adoption fees on all species – dogs, cats, rabbits,
birds, livestock, and more

Largo, FL (September 4, 2024) – SPCA Tampa Bay is waiving fees for ALL pet
adoptions on Saturday, September 7! This year’s adoption event marks a decade
of dedicated efforts to find loving homes for pets and supporting animal
shelters nationwide through Clear The Shelters. All species are included in
this fee-waived adoption event. For more information on SPCA Tampa Bay’s Clear
The Shelters event, and all of their adoptable pets, visit

As a For-All shelter, SPCA Tampa Bay cares for animals of all species. There
are currently 65 dogs, 53 cats, 1 turtle, 30 rabbits, 3 birds, 1 hamster, 7
guinea pigs, 5 chickens, 2 mice, and 1 pig, all of whom will be available to
adopt with no fee for one day only. Traditionally adoption prices for most
animals range from $30-200 or more but, on Saturday, September 7, all adoption
fees will be waived. Animals are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and
microchipped. The time these dogs, cats, small animals, and livestock spend
with SPCA Tampa Bay is only temporary and the love they can bring to a family
will last a lifetime.

Arrive early at SPCA Tampa Bay on Saturday, September 7 and please prepare for
a BIG crowd of excited animal lovers and longer wait times. The For-All
shelter in Largo opens at 10 a.m. and will be processing adoptions until 5
p.m. Local food truck Funnel Vision will be on-site from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. with
unique sweet and savory food creations.

If you have young members in your family and other pets like dogs, please make
arrangements for them to meet your new adoptable pet at SPCA Tampa Bay. If you
plan to bring your own dog for a meet and greet with a shelter pup, please be
sure to have at least two adults in your party to allow everyone in your group
a chance to meet the shelter dog one-on-one before introducing the dogs. There
will be a limit of one dog introduction per party to accommodate all adopters
that day. All adopted animals must leave the shelter properly contained, so
please come prepared with a leash and collar or carrier for your new friend.
These items will also be available for purchase in our gift shop as needed.

Clear The Shelters has been instrumental in connecting vulnerable animals with
