Wendy Wesley, health education manager for the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, went into the kitchen to prepare a recipe from the recently released St. Pete Eats: A Cookbook. The cookbook is the result of a partnership between St. Pete deputy mayor and city administrator Kanika Tomalin and more than 30 beloved local restaurants.

In Wesley’s cooking demo in the Free Clinic’s teaching kitchen, she prepares a green apple cucumber salad from Punky’s Bar and Grill. It’s a refreshing dish that doesn’t require turning on the oven, making it a great choice for a hot summer day.
